We sanded it to smooth it out, cleaned off all the spider webs and sealed it with polyurethane to make it shinny and smooth. Then we added a piece of particle board along the bottom to make it more sturdy and added casters. The casters gave it some height and made it so that you could just roll it where ever you wanted! The top still works so you can stuff magazines, toys or whatever your heart desires in the coop. One of my friends purchased it and it looks great in her living room. Her one year old loves it!!
